I guess I have one project to mention on here…
I found a few tires lying around and figured I would use them as planters. I placed them so vines can be planted on some and trellised up the porch.
I also sheet mulched underneath them with mostly pizza boxes (which btw are NOT recyclable, because of the grease).
The back story to this particular plot of land is that there are 2 black walnut trees close by. I have had a hard time getting anything to grow in the area, even in the raised bed in the pic.
So this year I am planting everything above ground. Also, hopefully, a layer of sheet mulch (wet cardboard topped with wood chips) will help keep the black walnut toxins out.
