Today we turned the compost. I put the 2 smaller bins in to a big one and made sure it was watered down well. Even though it had been raining for a while, it was still quite dry inside the pile.
Also notice that I left the bottom part of the compost pile on the left on the ground. This area is going to be a hugelkultur bed so we are going to smother the ground cover. We’ll start with matted leaves then put down a dark price of plastic for a few days then cover with cardboard, woody material and compost.
