EF – Eisenia Fetida – Latin name for the most common composting worm. AKA red wiggler, etc. A prolific breeder this small-sized, hardy worm can withstand a long range of environments.
EH – Eisenia Hortensis – Latin name for Eisenia Fetida’s close relative. AKA European Night crawler, Euro, etc. A bit bigger than EF’s and considered a night crawler, EH’s are still considered to be adaptable and thrive in bin conditions.

FT – Flow Through – A type of worm bin that is fed from the top and harvested through the bottom, therefore creating a “flow through” design.
RM – “Rubber Made” type totes – These can be worm bins themselves or totes that are used to store compost, etc.

VC or Vermi-Compost – Compost made up of primarily worm excrement (commonly called worm castings). Vermi-compost is sometimes differentiated from 100% pure worm castings and sometimes used synonymously.
Thinned – Seedlings can be “thinned out” by pulling extra ones out when they get big enough to start crowding the neighbors.
